Flexible Itineraries for eBiking on Waiheke

Waiheke Island has some killer hills, and if you're not the marathon type, or you're partial to a wine or two, you'll need some extra help to push you along.  Don't miss the sights or put up with an exhausting day because you've gone for a 'regular bike'.

Views, Vines, Wine & Dine

What better way to spend a day on Waiheke than indulging in what it's best known for — beaches, hilltop views, fine dining, vineyard tours and wine tastings.

This eBike ride explores wineries over Waiheke Island’s eastern side, featuring panoramic views across to Auckland and surrounding islands.  You will cruise though the beautiful seaside village of Oneroa, and visit three wineries before breezing back down along the southern coast to our starting point at Matiatia wharf.

If you're up to it, there's the option of heading out to the far eastern point of the island for more breath-taking views of Auckland along a sweeping, bush lined road.

Allow for around half a day to complete the entire 27km loop, with around 1.5 hours cycle time, plus additional time for wine tasting, dining, and your usual instagramming.  Check out the links below to see what's on offer.

Five Beaches

Waiheke Island was voted the fifth best island in the world by Lonely Planet  in 2016. The award says it all, but your eyes will say it better....

There’s no better way to see the full panoramic beauty of Waiheke Island than from the seat of an eBike. Throw out that bus timetable, delete that taxi number - you're setting the pace now!  With a cool sea-breeze and a silent engine between your knees you can come and go as you please.

Each beach we have selected have their own unique qualities.  All have white or golden sand, safe clean swimming, are uncrowded, and have free public facilities such as 24/7 BBQ use, and public restrooms.  These areas are also known for curious Orcas and dolphins coming in to the bays.

MTB Park & Trails

Feel the buzz!  Twist, duck and dive on one of our electric mountain bikes through the purposely developed tracks and trails of the Waiheke Island Bike Park (WMBC) and Whakanewha National Park.

Nestled comfortably inside the Onetangi Sports Park, the WMBC is the perfect location to spend a few hours raising your adrenaline levels with all the downhill  thrills and excitement of a bike park - only without the exhausting haul to get to the top of the tracks.  You'll go for longer and be using these ebikes for what they were built for!

Waiheke bike park caters for all levels of rider, whether you're the more daring type who isn't a stranger to two wheels, or you're a little less confident on the pedals and just want to enjoy the nature trails and scenery on the Family Track.  Easy, Intermediate and Advanced tracks are clearly mapped around the park.  This thrilling experience shouldn't be missed — especially on one of our quality ebikes.

Scale the Island

The road from your starting point will instantly transform as you head out to the undeveloped and rugged north-eastern side of Waiheke island. You’ll cycle for around 30mins on unpaved red earth road, travelling at your own pace, taking in the natural coastline and untouched views along the way. You’ll find our ebikes are the perfect way to explore Waiheke Island’s mixed terrain.

Stop half-way for a swim and a long lunch at Waiheke island's most popular eastern beach, Man O'War Bay, and discover why Waiheke is famous for its vineyards and wine tours when you taste award winning wines at the adjoining vineyard.

The loop road back will take you along the scenic southern coast, cruising down long winding, uncluttered red earth roads, passing by the infamous Passage Rock winery - another vineyard with an equally great reputation. Getting back on after that post-lunch glass of wine will never be easier than with one of our eBikes.
